The Bayside Aboriginal Access Point (AAP) helps Aboriginal people impacted by family violence to safely connect with specialist family violence services.

The Bayside AAP is an Aboriginal-led service, designed to be culturally safe and responsive to the needs of Aboriginal adults, children, young people living in the Bayside Peninsula area, who are affected by family violence. This service is delivered under Dhelk Dja by the Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA).

How the Bayside Aboriginal Access Point works

Bayside AAP Journey Walkers will walk alongside Aboriginal families to provide culturally responsive services in line with their needs. Journey Walkers will support service users to keep themselves and their families safe by:

  • Providing cultural connection supports
  • Identifying supports and services
  • Providing cultural advocacy
  • Working alongside other professionals and services to ensure each person receives the right support for them
