Connection to Aboriginal family, community and culture is central to Aboriginal children’s safety and wellbeing.

Our Cultural Support Worker assists Child Protection and community services organisations to help children in care connect to their culture, community and family.

What we offer

Our Cultural Support Worker:

• Helps develop, implement and monitor the cultural support plans
• Encourages and supports active participation by the child’s extended family, community and care team in the child’s plan
• Assists carers to support the child to understand their Aboriginal heritage and develop their own cultural identity and pride
• Supports children and carers access cultural resources and community events.
