To celebrate 2024 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day, we want to see what connection to culture means to our deadly kids!

This year’s theme is ‘Strong in Culture, Stronger Together’. VACCA is the peak voice for Aboriginal children in Victoria and we believe connection to culture and community is essential for our children to grow up feeling safe and strong, and proud of their Aboriginal identity.

For Children’s Day 2024, we want to see how our children connect with their culture and what makes them proud of their identity. To win one of ten (10) prize packs, submit a photo or video of how your deadly kid connects to culture. It might be a picture of a craft they have made, playing didgeridoo, or dancing. It could be spending time with a special Aunty or Uncle or being on Country.

Open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 12 and under, the competition closes at 11:59pm on Monday 5 August and we will share the best entries on VACCA’s social media!

Ten (10) winners will receive a prize pack including an adorable Koorie bear, temporary tattoos and ‘Our Mob’, a book celebrating the unique cultures of Aboriginal mobs in Australia, written by Jacinda Daniher and VACCA staff member, Taylor Hampton.

Submit your entries via Facebook or Instagram. All the terms and conditions are below. We can wait to see what makes our deadly kids proud!
