Did you know there are different types of foster care options for foster carers?

There are many ways to provide a welcoming temporary home for children, with the aim to reunite them with their birth family and maintain the child’s connection to their culture, family and community. You can choose the type of foster care that best fits you and your family:

Short-Term Stays

Short-term stays include weekend stays or stays that last for only a few days. Respite foster care is another example of short-term stays, which is when children are placed with foster carers on an immediate basis until a longer-term solution is made.

Medium-term stays

Medium-term stays can range from weeks to months. These stays provide time to get to know children and give them with a welcoming home and nurturing stability.

Long-term stays

Long-term stays can range from many months to years. This option is for dedicated foster carers who want to offer children a more consistent home and connection, knowing the children will return to their family.

When it comes to foster care, the choice is yours. To start your foster care journey, please submit an expression of interest – our team will be in touch to take you through the next steps!
