Thank you to all our runners in 2018 who helped raise over $7,000 for our cultural program. It was a great fun day where our 18 member team ran, walked and strolled around the 5km, 10km and half marathon course.

Come and join us for Team VACCA 2019!

About Run Melbourne

Run Melbourne is a distinctive all abilities running event where participants have the option to run/walk 5km, or really challenge themselves with a 10km or half marathon run! The course covers the iconic sights of Melbourne while also being packed full of entertainment and fun with on-course motivators, cheer squads, live music, DJs and more, with Birrarung Marr the finish line for all three courses.

Your support

Your fundraising and support will mean a great deal to the Aboriginal families and their children we support throughout Victoria. With the awareness and funds you can raise, you’ll be helping VACCA to further support them. Funds raised go towards our cultural program including our Cultural Camps.

The cultural camps provide the opportunities for young people to engage with local Elders and community members , and participate in a weekend of cultural activities for a really immersive experience – and connect to their culture.

When a child is placed in our care away from their family, it can be difficult for them to remain connected to their country and culture. There are over 1800 Aboriginal children in care in Victoria. Many of these children are separated from family, community and their traditional country.

In my life, I never really had family around to connect me with my culture. VACCA helped me to know who I am, and it’s because of VACCA that I’ve been able to find out where my people are from, my family and to stay connected with my family.

- Ruby

We’re hoping to grow our team VACCA runners in 2019 and show a big support for Aboriginal children in care!

Yes, I want to join Team VACCA!
