At VACCA, our core purpose is supporting culturally strong, safe and thriving Aboriginal communities. Our role is to protect the children in our care, and keep them healthy an safe.

The COVID-19 vaccination is an important step in keeping our community safe, including our most vulnerable children, young people, and families. Immunisation against disease is an essential part of health care, to keep our kids healthy, prevent serious illness, and keep kids in school and connected to their friends. Immunisations are part of routine medical care, and the COVID-19 vaccines provide greater protection to those who have been vaccinated and protects those in our community who may be unable to receive vaccines themselves by reducing the spread of disease. We will always act in the best interests of the child.

COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective and free.  Vaccinations are currently available to children over 5 years.  VACCA, similar to other child and family agencies who provide care for children, are guided by the advice of the Chief Health Officer and Department of Families, Fairness and Housing guidelines and policies.
